Supporting Stress-Free Yacht Ownership
Ownership Coaching, Maintenance/Repair, Deliveries, Project & Program Management
ABOUT THE REAL CAPTAIN RON
As a USCG-Licensed Master Mariner (100GRT), I offer yacht owners decades of experience owning both high-level offshore racing and ocean-going cruising yachts (see photos to the right).
With a background in Strategic Communications, I know how to present recommended courses of action, alternatives, the risks/costs vs. the benefits of each - and do it from an OWNERS's perspective - gets you more time on the water, and less "dollars per nautical mile."

Services
Most people who can afford yachts have less time to devote to them than they would like. That's where I come in; providing the routine maintenance and light-medium complexity repairs that yacht yards either don't want to do, can't schedule for weeks, or charge you yacht-yard-prices if they deign to do it. Examples include: servicing winches, re-bedding hardware, engine service/oil/filter changes, 12v wiring, troubleshooting, varnish, hull touch-ups, rigging, even checking and updating your PFD's.
I also provide passage planning, delivery services, orchestrating more complex projects including specialists and yacht yards, pre-purchase and pre-sale inspections, and sailing and safety training.

I don't wear an eye patch.
With thousands of miles of ocean sailing, hundreds of podium finishes on my boats and OPB's (Other People's Boats), 9 Bermuda Races, 1 Transatlantic Passage, a stint with an America's Cup Campaign, 7 years of being the Offshore Coach (as a volunteer) at SUNY Maritime College, 13 years as an Offshore Safety At Sea Instructor, and a Captains/Master 100T License, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others.
I got started in this business by accident. After a career in Marketing, I decided to combine my client service skills, sailing talent, ownership experience and a desire to support the sailing community into a side gig. I quickly found out that there was an overwhelming need and desire for support from new sailors, or sailors upgrading from smaller boats. There are plenty of places where one can take sailing lessons, courses in navivigaton, or specific trade skills, but no one teaches "How to Be an Owner" and all the hard and soft skills that come along with that.
